BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A second grader at Fairview Elementary School is recovering after being hit by a car.
On April 26, at about 2:30 p.m., a California Highway Patrol officer went to the parking lot at the school regarding a pedestrian that was hit by a car.
Officials said the student aid was slowly backing up and didn't see the child. The boy was standing near a concrete curb and was hit in the leg.
The boy was taken to Kern Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries.
A spokesperson for the Greenfield Union School District said the student employee is also pretty shaken up but it was an accident.
