Bakersfield Boy Scout troop scrambles to find gear for camping trip after trailer was stolen

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A Bakersfield Boy Scout troop is scrambling, after a trailer with all of their equipment was stolen just hours before a trip.

Boy Scout Troop 194 had their trailer parked in front their troop leader's home in anticipation of a weekend camping trip to Lake Ming.

The troop leader said sometime between 10:30 pm. on Halloween night and 6:30 a.m. Friday morning someone had to have driven to the home, hooked up the trailer and drove away with it.

Aside from all of the valuable camping equipment, the troop leader said there were also many items inside the trailer that had been with the boys for years.

Today, the parents of the scouts were scrambling to find whatever camping equipment they could so that they could continue with their weekend plans.

If someone spots the trailer they can call the troop master Tony Castiglione at (661) 588-7933.
