Bakersfield brides can 'say yes to the dress' at a great deal, benefit charity for terminally ill

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Hundreds of brides will get the chance to pick out their dream dresses at a charity wedding dress sale this weekend.

The sale, hosted by Brides for a Cause, offers over 800 dresses that are sold for as low as $150.

"We have everything from Vera Wang to David's Bridal, " said Erin Scharf with Brides for a Cause. "All of these dresses are donated either by brides or we even had donations from the TLC show 'Say Yes to the Dress.'"

This is the first time the charity dress show is making an appearance in the Central Valley.

All dresses purchased at the show will help fund Wish Upon a Wedding, a national organization that provides weddings to couples facing terminal illnesses.

"We're hoping that by bringing this show here we may be able to grant wishes to brides in Bakersfield," Scharf said.

Recently, the organization was able to provide a bride with stage-four breast cancer the chance to renew her vows.

The event is at The Patino located at 425 30th Street in Bakersfield.

The wedding dress sale starts 10 a.m. Sunday until 4 p.m. People who say "23ABC" at checkout can get $100 off any dress $300 or more.
