BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The community came together to celebrate the holidays and the lives of Bakersfield burn survivors.
The Burn Foundation held a Christmas party for local survivors and their families, along with people who held the foundation throughout the year.
The organization works with Grossman Burn Center at San Joaquin Community Hospital to help burn survivors and their families.
23ABC presented $1000 to Bakersfield Firefighters Burn Foundation on behalf on the Scripps Howard Foundation.
The money will be used to send kids to "Champ Camp," a summer camp for burn victims.
"They help provide garments, toys, hotel, gas and food for families who are in need after a burn," said Karen Garner, director of the Grossman Burn Center.
Garner said the Burn Center continues to thrive because of the community's ongoing support.
