Bakersfield business owner to start airport shuttle bus service to LAX

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A Bakersfield businessman is starting up a shuttle service from Bakersfield to Los Angeles International Airport.

Phil Rudnick is forming Airport Valet Bus, the third shuttle to trying the Bakersfield market since September.

A round trip will cost $89, with a single trip going for $49. The service will begin Dec. 19.

This shuttle offers amenities like TVs, zero-gravity chairs, beverages and eventually WiFi.

Airport Valet Bus is in the south wing of the Stockdale Corporate Center at 201 New Stine Road, Suite 350. Riders can park their cars there for $10 per day.

Buses will leave Bakersfield four times per day: 5 a.m., 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Buses will return to Bakersfield from LAX at 9 a.m., 1 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Reservations can be made by calling Rudnick's business at 661-363-5000, option 3.

Rudnick owns "Kern Mediation," a dispute mediation company.

Interstate Bus operated a route from Bakersfield to LAX, but ended it after six days, citing financial and technology troubles.
