BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - People wanting to raise chickens in their backyards will have to come up with another plan if they live in the city limits.
The Bakersfield City Council voted 4-2 last night to maintain city ordinances that ban chickens on small residential parcels, according to the Californian.
People have tried to argue that owning chickens can have many benefits.
But dust, odor, air quality and public health were listed as potential risk factors in owning the birds.
