BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A local civil rights activist will be recognized during a ceremony at the state capitol.

Dolores Huerta will be inducted to the Seventh Annual California Hall of Fame and will receive the 'Spirit of California' medal from Governor Jerry Brown.

Huerta, a longtime organizer with the United Farm Workers and the 'Dolores Huerta Foundation' has worked to advance the rights of farm workers and the Chicano Movement.

Last year, she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama.
