BAKERSFIELD - The shopping season is under way and there's one company helping many people in the community get into the spirit of the holidays.

From now until Christmas workers with Alpine Trees will be busy making deliveries to businesses around Kern County.

Crews with alpine grow their own trees and it takes all year to prepare for the holiday season.

Owners say the biggest delivery includes the Sheraton Hotel four points on California avenue they order about 15 trees every year.

Cities in Delano and Tehachapi plan to get trees from Alpine that are more than twenty feet tall.

"This is a culmination of a long year of work and an average of 8 to 12 on the trees so, there's a lot of love that goes into the trees and we like to bring them down and have people enjoy it and have a merry Christmas," said owner, Chris Maretich.

Owners say a twenty-four tall tree usually takes about 15 to 20 years to grow.
