BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a fire at 222 Bloomquist around 7 a.m. Friday.
The first arriving crews reported a single story, single family home with light smoke showing. Fire crews worked at putting out the fire and contained it to the room it started in.
The structure was vacant, according to the Fire Department.
Bakersfield fire arson investigators were dispatched to the scene to determine the origin and cause of the fire. The fire was found to be suspicious and is under investigation.
Damage is estimated at $5,000. No one was hurt.
