BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - An abandoned second story house was engulfed in flames early Tuesday afternoon, according to officials.

On Feb. 12, at about 11:30 a.m., firefighters with the Bakersfield Fire Department went to a building near 605 South Union Avenue regarding an abandoned home in flames.

Battalion Chief Garth Milan said the fire appeared to have started on the first floor and quickly moved up to the second floor of the building.

According to Milan, it is not clear if anyone was inside the building prior to the fire, but no injuries were reported.

This is the second fire within a few months at this location, according to Milan.
