Bakersfield Fire Dept.: Two lanes blocked on Ming Avenue after car fire

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Two lanes on Ming Avenue are blocked after a car reportedly caught fire.

On April 30, at about 2:15 p.m., crews with the Bakersfield Fire Department went to the area near Ming Avenue and Ashe Road in Bakersfield regarding a person who was allegedly trapped inside a car that was on fire.

At 2:50 p.m., officials said one person was taken to a hospital with smoke inhalation.  Officials said it is unknown how bad the inhalation is at this time.

Two lanes on Ming Avenue at Greesward Way are blocked at this time. The Bakersfield Police Department is waiting on a tow truck to move the burned car.
