Bakersfield firefighters contain an apartment fire in 13 minutes

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Fire Department responded to a fire on the 1000 block of Nimrod Ct.
First arriving units reported heavy fire showing from multiple windows on the second floor of a two story apartment complex.
Fire crews ran hose lines to the interior, where they found heavy fire in the kitchen, living room and
Firefighters extinguished the fire and prevented extension to adjoining units.
Adjoining unites were evacuated and the area was searched twice.
The coordinated attack controlled the fire in 13 minutes.
Damage is estimated at $100,000 with more than $120,000 saved.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
The Red Cross responded to assist the two adults and three children displaced by the fire.
