BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - For the first time ever, Bakersfield has a men's roller derby team.
The City Slick Rollers are the so-called brother team to he Bakersfield Diamond Divas.
The team was born two years ago when founder, Ron "Billy Motion" Anderson decided to take his love for coaching to the next step. That's when he put to the team together.
Every Tuesday night the men practice at Skate Land in central Bakersfield.
Members said part of their proceeds go to a local charity and they are training for their next bout in June.
They said they would have more bouts but men's teams are difficult to come by so they only play the few men's teams that are currently active
