BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The investigation continues into an east Bakersfield hit and run accident, just one day after CHP officers said the prime suspect turned himself in.

31-year-old Frank Carillo surrendered to authorities yesterday after seeing himself on surveillance video.

He allegedly hit 31-year-old Stephanie Tweedy while she was crossing Pioneer Drive back in February.

He drove the victim to the hospital, but officers said he did not call 911.

The incident is still being investigated and criminal charges may be filed.
