Bakersfield man accused of striking employee during store robbery

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man is wanted in connection to a strong-arm robbery, according to police.

On Jan. 25, at about 8:30 p.m., officials said the suspect entered the Rite Aid Store on Mount Vernon Avenue and selected merchandise.

According to officials, the suspect attempted to exit the store without paying, but was confronted by a store employee. The suspect struck the employee, and then fled with the merchandise.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s, with sideburns and goatee.  He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black pants and black shoes.

Anyone with information is urged to call the BPD at 327-7111.
