BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -
Suspicious circumstances call leads to a vehicle pursuit and arrest of a Bakersfield man Sunday night, according to deputies.
On April 28, at about 11:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a suspicious circumstances call regarding a driver of a vehicle trying to run over a person on the sidewalk in the area of Knotts and River Blvd..
Deputies said they found a vehicle matching the suspected vehicle in the area and tried to make a traffic stop.
The driver, 27-year-old Andres Morales of Bakersfield, refused to yield and attempted to flee the area.
Deputies pursued the vehicle for about two minutes before Morales left the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Morales resisted arrest before being taken into custody.
Morales was booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility for evading a peace officer, resisting arrest, driving on a suspended license, and driving under the influence.
