Family and friends celebrated with the 101-year-old at his favorite Mexican restaurant.
Originally from Texas, McReynolds became a Bakersfield resident back in 1932. He often tells people even when it's 103 degrees out, he would not want to live in any other place.

McReynolds is known to many as a hard worker. He even worked up until he was 96-year-old at the 24 Hour Fitness gym on Gosford Road where he sported a shirt that displayed his age.
A heart surgery on his 96th birthday has left McReynolds unable to return back to the gym.
He has two sons, Dan and Bruce McReynolds, who have given him four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The 101-year-old became a widower after outliving four different wives.
Family describe him as being an eternal optimist always looking at the brighter side of life.
