BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -

A man climbed a roof in central Bakersfield causing substantial property damage and resulting in Union Avenue being shut down on Wednesday night.

It was reported that a man had climbed onto the roof of the Turning Point Rehabilitation Center, and refused to come down for hours and while he destroyed vehicles from above.

Two rehab employees' cars were completely destroyed by roof tiles being thrown by the man.

Despite damage, women remain in good spirits and said you can't get mad at things that happen in life, it's just life.

Police officials were able to talk the man down and Union Avenue was reopened.
