Bakersfield man dies from gunshot wound

Suspects fled scene, BPD is looking for them

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man has died from gunshot wounds Tuesday night, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

On Jan. 29, at about 4 p.m., Bakersfield Police officers went to the 1400 block of Calcutta Drive regarding a shooting.

Officers arrived and found 21-year-old Deontray Eric Blakley suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers said the suspects were described as black men who fled eastbound on Calcutta Drive in an unknown vehicle.

Blakley was taken to a local hospital where he died as a result from his wounds.

An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.

Anyone with information is urged to call the BPD at 327-7111.
