Bakersfield man found with gunshot wound on Pioneer Drive dies

Homicide detectives are investigating

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man found with a gunshot wound on Pioneer Drive in Bakersfield has died.

On September 2, at about 11:45 p.m. deputies went to the 3500 block of Pioneer Drive regarding a report of a shot heard in the area and a person laying in the roadway. 

When deputies arrived they said they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. 

The man, identified as 23-year-old Terrence Jamaal Nash of Bakersfield, was taken by ambulance to Kern Medical Center, where he died as a result of his injuries. 

Homicide detectives went to the scene and began an investigation into the shooting.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
