Bakersfield man in orchard identified, man died from gunshot

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man who was found dead in an orchard on Monday has been identified.
On May 6, at about noon, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office went to an orange orchard just west of Comanche Drive and just south of Pioneer Dr., regarding reports of a body being found.
When deputies arrived they spoke with a farm laborer who had found the body while working in the orchard. They were directed to the body.
On May 9, the Kern County Sheriff Coroner, Donny Youngblood, confirmed that 23-year-old Joaquin Molina was the man who was found.
Youngblood said that after completing an autopsy, it was determined the cause of death was a gunshot wound and the manner was homicide.
