BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A former assistant coach for the freshman baseball team at Garces Memorial High School entered a plea in court regarding his alleged sex with an underage girl.
25-year-old Jon Alexzander Sweet pleaded no contest Tuesday to one count of unlawful sexual intercourse. Two other counts of the same charge were dismissed.
In April 2013, the parents of a 17-year-old female student said Sweet had a relationship with their daughter for months.
The family went to police after their daughter admitted to the relationship.
Police arrested Sweet at his home and during the arrest, investigators said they found nude pictures of the 17-year-old female student.
Bakersfield police said the teen told her parents she had sex with the assistant coach on several occasions.
