Bakersfield man shot in thigh during drive-by

Officials have made no arrests

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -  

A man is recovering from a gunshot wound after a drive-by occurred in East Bakersfield last night.

On Feb. 12, at about 7:00 p.m., deputies with the Kern County Sheriff's Office Metropolitan Patrol Division went to  Jeffrey Street regarding a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Deputies said they found a young man suffering from a single gunshot wound to his left thigh.

The victim said the suspect shot him from a passing grey vehicle, that fled northbound.

The victim was unable to provide any further suspect description, according to police. 

Officials said the victim was taken to a local hospital, where he received medical attention.

Authorities said no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
