BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in identifying a robbery suspect.

On Jan. 31, at about 4:00 p.m., police said the suspect entered the Albertsons on Brundage Lane, removed food items and entered the restroom where he concealed the merchandise.

According to police reports, the suspect exited the restroom and was confronted by a store employee, at which time the suspect brandished a knife.

Police said the suspect then fled the business in a black 4-door Dodge Charger with tinted windows.

The suspect is described as a black man, 5-foot-10 with a tattoo of a tear drop on his face, according to the store employee.  He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt underneath and jeans.

Anyone with information is urged to call the BPD at 327-7111.
