BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A gang member convicted of shooting a BPD officer will be spending many years behind bars.
17-year-old Saron Green was sentenced today to 66 years to life behind bars.
Green was reportedly trying to rob a convenience store with two other gang members on Wilson and New Stine Roads back in 2009 when officers showed up.
The teens opened fire and one of the officers was shot in the leg.
Green was found guilty of several felonies including attempted murder.
Another suspect, Daryl Hargis, was sentenced earlier this week to 32 years to life in prison.
