Bakersfield man who was shot leads police to suspected shooter

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - On Wednesday, at about 6:15 p.m., officers were sent to the area of 32 and San Dimas streets regarding shots being fired.
Officers said they spoke with a man who said that he had been shot at by a suspect known to him. The suspect was reportedly the passenger in a white Nissan/Altima, which had fled in an unknown direction.
A short time later, officers said they found the vehicle in the alleyway of the 800 block of 31st Street. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Jesse Zamora 21, of Bakersfield, was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Kern County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy.
Officers were able to develop information that the suspect that fired the weapon at the victim, identified as Gregorio Zamora 39, also of Bakersfield, was at a home in the 800 block of 30th Street.
After a short stand-off, Gregorio Zamora surrendered to officers and was booked into the Kern County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy.
