BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Made-for-TV mega-hit Sharknado is blowing into a Bakersfield movie theater.
Regal Cinemas will air the Syfy sensation at select theaters on August 2nd -- and Bakersfield happens to be on the list.
Edwards Bakersfield Stadium 14 at the Marketplace on Ming Avenue will hold a midnight showing of the gory disaster film -- which stars Tara Reid, Ian Ziering, and hundreds of computer-generated sharks -- on Friday, August 2nd.
Tickets for the special showing cost $12.50.
The film first aired on Syfy two weeks ago and became an instant sensation due to its bizarre plot, cheezy lines, and over-the-top violence.
Regal officials told The Hollywood Reporter they hope to deliver a Rocky Horror Picture Show-type experience with audience interaction -- especially on social media sites like Twitter.
A sequel for Sharknado was recently greenlit.
