BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A local Bakersfield teen has used his talents and produced a song about bullying.

The song, "Ashley's Pain", was written and produced by Jeffery Watts after his friend Ashley committed suicide because she was being bullied.

So far, the video on YouTube has gained over 8,000 views.

Watts, who's recording name is 1k Watts (1,000 Watts), grew up on 1st Street in Bakersfield.

Watts has been creating music since he was 12-years-old. The song "Crank dat Soulja Boy" inspired him to pursue a music career. He says his inspiration comes from other artists such as Flo Rida, Soulja Boy, Hurricane Chris, and Eminem.

The song was brought to 23ABC's attention after several school shootings.  Although reasons for some shootings have yet to be discovered, many believe that bullying is at the center of the hot topic.
