BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - During a three week period in late May and early June, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Assault and Abuse Investigations Unit conducted numerous compliance checks on registered sex offenders.
The compliance checks were conducted in targeted areas of east Bakersfield and Oildale to ensure individuals required to register as sex offenders were meeting that requirement.
After conducting the compliance checks, detectives determined one individual was out of compliance for failing to register after moving from one home to another. Detectives were able to locate that individual who reported to the Sheriff’s Registration Office later that day and updated his registration status.
All of the other individuals who were contacted during the operation were found to be in compliance.
