BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Three PG&E employees from Bakersfield are leaving for Kansas City to compete in the 30th annual Lineman's Rodeo and Expo.
More than 200 teams from around the globe will be competing tin the championship to show off the unique skills they bring to their job everyday.
PG&E is sending four teams including one from Bakersfield.
Jerry Bryant, Michael Moss and Randy Patt will be taking part in four events: speed climbing, a pole rescue, and two mystery events.
"We expect to win. We're not going for second place. We're going there to compete and we wouldn't even be going unless we thought we had a good chance to win," the competitors said.
The men will leave Wednesday for the event in Kansas City. Their families will cheer them on at the competition.
