Shots fired after burglary in east Bakersfield

UPDATE (Feb. 18, 12:06 p.m.): A resident near where the incident happened said he saw his neighbor's home being burglarized by three men and called 911. The resident's nephew chased after the the three men and the suspects dropped all but one of the homeowner's guns. 

According to the resident, one of the three men shot at the nephew as he chased them, but he was not injured. 

The resident and the nephew asked not to be identified for fear of their safety. 

They said the crime has been ongoing in the area for quite some time.

Bakersfield Police are on scene of a disturbance in east Bakersfield. 

It happened near Monterey St. and Miller St. just after 10 a.m. 

Initial reports from the Bakersfield Police Department is that there was some sort of disturbance and someone may have been shot.
