Bakersfield Police Dept. to hire police trainees

Some to be funded by Federal grant to hire vets

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department is currently recruiting and testing for the position of Police Trainee.

The police department said they are expecting to hire police trainees, some of whom will be funded by a Federal grant to hire military veterans who were honorably discharged after Sept. 11, 2001.

The academy will begin in July 2013.
