Bakersfield police looking suspect involved in stealing two train cars from storage unit

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance finding a suspect or suspects wanted for stealing a two train cars from a storage unit near the Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. 

According to police on December 26 between 2:30 am and 11:20 pm unknown suspects broke into a storage shed and removed two train cars, one a coal car and the other a caboose.

Police said the remainder of the train was left behind but positioned in such a fashion that it appeared the suspects anticipated returning for the rest of it.

Given the unique nature and ease of recognition of the trains, police are encouraging anyone who may see similar items in their area to contact them.
