BPD: Woman arrested after body found in Bakersfield motel

Officials: Firearm was recovered

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A woman is behind bars after the body of a man was found near an Old Town Kern restaurant.

According to Lt. Scott Tunnicliff with the Bakersfield Police Department, officers went to the St. Frances Motel, near the Pyrenees Cafe on Sumner Street, Wednesday at about 10:30 p.m., regarding shots fired.

When officers arrived, they said they found a man, later identified as 45-year-old Allan Scott Johnson, suffering from gunshot wounds.  Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bakersfield officers said they detained 46-year-old Lisa Richardson and then arrested her for murder.  Officers said they also recovered the firearm.
