BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Firefighters from Bakersfield with a Cal-Fire Strike Team were able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal at home Thursday after battling a 3,500 acre fire for nearly a week.
The McCabe Fire is now 100 percent contained.
The fire started last Friday in Sonoma County and grew to about 3,500 acres.
It forced more than a dozen people from their homes near a geo-thermal power plant and destroyed its cooling tower.
It was finally contained early Thursday morning and Cal-Fire's Strike Team 9410C was able to have a warm meal back at their station.
