Bakersfield suspect with outstanding warrant arrested after police chase

Speeds reached up to 50 MPH in residential streets

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man remains behind bars this morning after he led police on a chase through east Bakersfield.

Police said they saw the man driving erratically near Pacific and West Streets so they tried to pull him over, but he didn't stop.

The man led police on a chase with speeds reaching up to 50 miles per hour through residential streets.

He finally stopped on Kentucky and Kern and was arrested.

Officers said they found a loaded handgun in the front seat of the car.

The suspect also had an outstanding warrant.
