BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - With the countdown to the cold weather season underway, Bakersfield West Rotary will be distributing 200 new and gently worn winter coats to the children of the Boys and Girls Club - Armstrong Youth Center Wednesday.

Over 600 coats were collected by Bakersfield West Rotary at the 2nd Annual Coat Drive at the Peddlers' Fair held at the Kern County Museum.

The coat drive was organized by West Rotarian, Mark Bianchi and staffed by members of Bakersfield West Rotary.

Attendees to the Peddlers' Fair received discounted admission to the fair with their donation of a gently used child's coat.

Other organizations that benefited from the coat drive included the Bakersfield Homeless Shelter and Castle Elementary School.
