Bakersfield woman threatens to cut own throat after threatening group home

Nobody was injured

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -  

A woman was evaluated after she held a knife to her own throat, according to deputies.

On April 11, at about 8:00 p.m., deputies went to the 500 block of Isabell Rd. regarding a woman brandishing a kitchen knife.  

According to reports, the 37-year-old woman was threatening to stab other residence and staff inside the group home. 

Staff from the group home attempted to wrestle the knife away from the woman but were unsuccessful. 

When deputies arrived, the woman had placed the  knife to her throat and threated to cut her own throat. 

Deputies and staff, were able to convince the woman to put the knife down. 

Once the woman was disarmed, a member of the Mental Evaluation Team responded to provide additional assistance.

No deputies or treatment staff were injured.
