Bakersfield woman was arrested for DUI after a car crash left two cars destroyed

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A Bakersfield woman was arrested for driving under the influence after she was involved in a two car collision, police said.
On Tuesday, April 2, at about noon, officer with the Bakersfield Police Department went to the 1900 block of Alta Vista Drive regarding a vehicle roll over.
Officers said they found two crashed cars when they arrived to the scene.
After investigating, officers said that a 2003 Mitsubishi driven by 59-year-old Nancy Ann Byington drifted on Alta Vista Drive when she hit a legally parked car on the street. The parked car, a 2002 Toyota, was occupied by 55-year-old Thomas Lee Pace and 94-year-old Earnis Stewart.
Both vehicles received major damage, according to police.
Pace complained of pain and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
Stewart suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital, as well. Stewart is listed in stable condition.
Byington suffered minor injuries. She was evaluated and arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, resulting in injury.
