Bakersfield woman's cause of death was by asphyxia

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - After investigation, a woman's death has now been declared as a homicide, according to officials.

On Dec. 14, the Bakersfield Police Department went to the 11000 block of Open Trail Road in Bakersfield, regarding a security alarm going off.  When officers arrived, they said they found a dead woman, now being identified as 55-year-old Cami, inside.

Today the coroner has determined that the manner of Cami's death was homicide.

On April 26, the Kern County Sheriff-Coroner, sent out a report that said the 'cause of death was determined to be asphyxia secondary to strangulation.'
