BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - For Conception Cazares, finding a professional outfit to go on job interviews has been tough.
"When you're on a budget, you can't go to Express, to Macy's to get a professional outfit," said Cazares.
Like many people, she went to the Career Services Center's Career Clothing Closet, in hopes to find assistance in dressing for success.
"My experience here has been a blessing," said Cazares. "A lot of people don't have the opportunity to come and have clothing help and given."
The Center's Career Clothing Closet has helped countless people find outfits over the years.
"We do have staff that work with them to help them understand how they need to dress and we also help them pick out clothing and put outfits together for them," said the Career Services Center marketing director, Danette Scarry.
Scarry also said the outfit does make the person.
"It is important because people make a first impression," said Scarry. "They see if you fit in with their company and if you don't look the part they are not going to see that."
Cazares said it boosts your image and self esteem.
Now, the Career Clothing Closet needs a boost.
"If you have something that you are no longer wearing that's professional, please donate it," said Scarry. "It might be a shirt or something they don't like, [but] bring it, someone will definitely use it."
