BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man was arrested after failing to stop for a stop sign violation and leading officers on a pursuit.
During the pursuit, officials said the suspect vehicle struck a parked vehicle on Bernard and the pursuit continued.
Officers said the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Mario Baltier, also pushed a woman out of the moving vehicle causing moderate injuries to the passenger who was taken to Kern Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the car pursuit ended when the vehicle struck a fence on Date Street and became disabled. A short foot pursuit began and Baltier was taken into custody on Oildale Drive.
The BPD said the vehicle was determined to be stolen out of the KCSO. Baltier was booked for possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading, hit and run, assault with a deadly weapon, driving on a suspended license, stop sign violation, and resisting arrest.
