Bakersfield College is offering a free shuttle service to students for the first month of school. The service will be offered Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Enrollment at the college is at an all-time high with more than 20,000 students enrolled for fall 2018. The school hopes to decrease traffic by offering these shuttles.

There will be eight different drop-off and pick-up locations.

1. P16 north entrance

2. P16 south entrance

3. BC Circle near Admin building

4. P7 south entrance

5. Fastrip Parking Lot on east side of Mount Vernon

6. P6/P7 near Memorial Stadium

7. Red and White Way near Huddle

8. P3 Roundabout

“The Bakersfield College Student Government Association would like to ask all students, all faculty, and all staff to carpool to reduce the number of vehicles coming onto campus and to help our environment. We also encourage you to ride public transportation or get dropped off by a family member, friend, or colleague. Currently, students with a BCSGA/KVC sticker can get $5 off when purchasing a monthly GET bus pass at the BC Bookstore,” said Dr. Nicky Damania, BC Director of Student Life. “In addition, we are excited that we have expanded the number of bike racks on campus for your use. Those of you who live nearby can ride your bike, or even park at friend’s home and ride your bike or carpool from there!” he added.
