BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield City School District held it's 2nd Annual Recipe Roundup.
Nearly 240 students from Cesar Chavez elementary taste tested recipe submissions from different schools.
Winning recipes will be added to next year's menu.
BCSD food services director Brenda Robinson said involving students in the menu selection is more than just for fun.
"Usually if you give a child an option to pick something they like, they'll choose it more readily and consume it," said Robinson.
The food items are not only tasty but also nutritional.
