BCSD offers summer school to all students for the first time

Summer Learning Centers open next week

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - For the first time in Bakersfield School District history every student will have the opportunity to stay sharp over summer vacation.

Summer Learning Centers will open up around the district as a place for children and their parents to get help while they work on their summer learning packets.

The grade-specific packets for TK-8th graders were handed out during the school year and are filled with the fundamentals students learned all year.

BCSD has always offered summer school to struggling students but now they want every student to continue their education while also enjoying summer break.

The program will run the same hours as summer school Monday-Thursday and for any questions you can call the district at (661) 631-4799.
