Bear Valley police found multiple assault weapons in man's possession

BEAR VALLEY SPRINGS, Calif. - Bear Valley police arrested Joseph Daniel Nelson after they said they found multiple assault weapons in his possession.

The arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation that was related to a previous domestic battery case, Chief Police for Bear Valley Police Department Rod Walthers said.

Nelson was booked at the Kern County Central Receiving Facility in Bakersfield on charges of possession of a short barrel rifle, possession of large-capacity magazines and possession of any assault weapon. His bail is set at $50,000.
