Blood bank inventory dangerously low; this week's donors get chance at TVs

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Houchin Blood Bank is hoping for a Christmas miracle.

Bakersfield officials said the blood bank is critically low this winter and is in desperate need of specific blood types.

Donors with O - , A - , and O+ blood types are especially needed.

23ABC has partnered with Houchin Blood Bank to get the word out to potential donors.

This week's donors will be entered into a drawing for one of two 39" flat screen televisions.

Donations can be made at the Houchin Community Blood Bank at 5901 Truxtun Avenue, or at 11 a.m. at Houchin's 11515 Bolthouse Drive location.

Donors will also get a free t-shirt.
