DELANO, Calif. - Patients at a Delano hospital were relocated within the building after a suspicious package was found Wednesday afternoon.

At about 12 p.m., housekeeping at Delano's Regional Medical Center found a suspicious package near the emergency room.

Officials said the maternity ward and patients in the emergency room were evacuated from their areas and placed into a safer area in the building.

Hospital officials called local police who immediately called bomb squad to location.

At about 3:45 p.m., officials confirmed that the package was not an explosive.

According to officials, the package contained several cell phones and tattoo ink.
