BAKERSFIELD - A Southwest Bakersfield intersection has reopened after it was shut down for more 3 hours Wednesday evening.
According to BPD, a driver spotted what appeared to be an explosive device in the roadway.
It happened just after 8 pm near the intersection of Panama and Buena Vista Roads.
Police arrived and immediately called the bomb squad to the scene. After hours of careful evaluation, they discovered it was merely a combination of items including a gas can, battery, and several wires.
The intersection was reopened just before 11 pm.
