BPD officials say at around 4:16 pm, employees at BJ's Restaurant, located at 10750 Stockdale Highway, received a call from an adult male indicating there was a bomb inside the restaurant.

Chris Pinsak, Regional VP for BJ's Restaurant told 23ABC that a threat was called in saying if they didn't get everyone out within an hour, they would blow the place up.

Pinsak added that they made the call to BPD out of an abundance of caution.

Authorities say the business was evacuated, searched, and resumed normal operations after BPD's K9 unit found there was no threat in the building.

Bakersfield Police detectives will continue the investigation and follow-up on all leads.
